Private Plate question

I'm sure this has been asked before but I'm buggered if I can find it... lol

Basically I have a plate on retention that I might put on my car.

If I put it on, do I have to pay a fee when I want to take it off again?

Having read some stuff online, it seems that you have to pay £105 to put it back on retention certificate... (£80 transfer fee for next time and £25 admin fee?)

yep, but if you just swap it from one car to another (ie, don't bother with certificate) you only pay the £80 transfer fee.

Its cheaper to go car to car to car, rather than take it off and retain, then use.

The 105 quid is the Transfer fee 80 quid, and the retention for a year is the 25 quid.

I had mine on retention for 10 months and it was £105 and no charge to put on the clio .
