Power steering fault

Hello, new on here and need some help please, I have a 53 reg 1.2 16v clio extreme, yesterday it ran perfect but when I started to drive it today as I speed up my steering wheel light flashes and the power steering fails, at the same time the radio turns off! And a really strange thing is that if I put my blower on number 4 the problem stops and it drives great. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help.

Problem located I think, the alternator is charging at 15.8v, far too high for the car, I removed the belt and it drives like a dream.
I'm getting it refurbished tomorrow and that should be an end to it.

Yes it was the alternator! £50 for an exchange and car runs great.
