ph1 or ph2 ?

the question has probably been asked loads before but i tried a search and it didnt come back with much.
basically im looking to buy a 172 but im undecided between a ph1 or a ph2. i have enough money to buy a ph1 at the moment but not sure if its worth holding off another month for a ph2. the interior does put me off the ph1 due to the green leather but wasnt sure if i would get used to it over time. is there any other advantages of the ph2 over the ph1?

Not sure which green leather you're refering to as mine is blue but I had a 182 FF which is slightly nicer interior than the ph2 172 (Very much the same though just newer) and I now have a ph1.

The interior doesn't bother me and it's comfortable enough and more fun to drive. Plus it saves you a packet.

id have a ph1 think they actually look a bit more sportier than the ph2 as well interior i aint ever had a problem with i mean its a renault it aint a aston martin lol..... and also the ph1 is quicker lol (can of worms ...check...opened....check lol)

Its a can of worms the ph1 v ph2 debate. There has been loads of threads about it.

I love my ph1. I chose it over a ph2. They're slightly cheaper and I prefare the more aggressive styling. Not driven a ph2 so I can't comment on what the difference is to drive.

yeh its the sort of bluey green tinge to the leather. i take it its just as comfortable as the ph2 inside. and is it missing much of the gadgets of the ph2? does it drive differently? the differnece in price would allow me to get some collies ect for it but still dont know....... mmm the decisions

I prefer the feel of the cable throttle in the ph1, it has air con not climate control which doesn't bother me. It also doesn't have an ESP button or cruise control which doesn't bother me either. The only thing that I don't like is the headlights but £60 for some HID's makes them look brill.

I got £6.2 for my 182 paid £2k for my ph1 paid another £300 for some coils and it's more fun just as comfortable and I have a nice holiday booked for January

same as been said, iv had a ph2 an liked it. sold it coz i got bored an ended up with a pulsar gti-r. now iv got a ph1, i like it a lot more then the ph2. no climate, esp, an tc dont bother me at all!

Interior is some plastics which is blue or grey. I concentrate on the road ahead :rasp:

Ph1 is the fastest, best looking (I'm bias haha!) and most exclusive Clio sport. Think about the last 10 sports you saw. I bet that you've seen Ph2's the most ! I think i've seen more V6's in the last year, than Ph1 172s

Plus, it's slightly faster (no diff in the real world!) on paper, and cheaper to buy. What's not to like ?

PS.: Green interior ?! Erm.. :dead:

I've just got a 182, and did consider getting a ph1 and pocketing the cash. Infact the thought has crossed my mind since getting the 182.

But, i think its all about budget, i really like my gadgets and much prefer the ph2 dash, which makes the 182 great for me. If i couldn't afford one though i would be more than happy with a ph1. Infact i'm considering buying one to tract next year sometime after xmas.
