So I've had my 182 up for sale for a little under a week and I've been asked for some more photos. More photos with this rain? No chance, until today.

The car had a 'mini detail' yesterday which included hand polishing some of the swirls from the paint and a wax but most importantly polishing up the carbon splitter. It was then relacquered to a glossy finish. I think it looks fab.

So on the way home last night I stopped off and got the camera and took the car to my local Sainsburys where it has a really well lit underground car park with the hope the lights would show off the colour and also add some more photos as requested by others. (Expecting more monsoon rains today.)

As I awoke this morning to hear the birds singing and the sun shining through the landing, I looked outside...bright sunshine.

So off I went to a local car park and took some more in the sunlight. Perfect weather. I just wish I had the car park to myself with no other cars and more imagination and skill with photography to make the most of it.

Here are just a few. I hope you enjoy.

I think this has to be my favourite colour. Hardly see them even on the forum, the way the sun's hitting them panels in the last photo? Niiiiice. Would look good on my driveway... any chance you'll take an Iceburg cup and cash your way? :p

This really does pain me to say this. The car sold tonight to the very first viewer. :dapprove: :dapprove: Hardly surprised. A deposit has changed hands and collection on Saturday evening. :dapprove: Makes me wonder if I sold it too cheap but Im not greedy. Just looking for a win win for all parties.

I hope the new owner is going to look after it. It deserves it.

Thanks to all that have given such great comments about it. I think these comments have made it a very heart wrenching decision to let the car go. At the talk of money I really felt uncomfortable in my stomach and didn't want to let go.

It was your great front and rear brakes that did it George.

No worries mate, glad you and the new owner liked the Brembos

Like you say hardly surprising first person to view put a deposit on it. Looks immaculate and obviously looked after

Chin up, you still have the 172 to drive

  172 Cup
Not surprised that this sold quickly. Superb condition and documented history! Lets hope the new owner applies the same amount of care :)

Well done on the sale, ive had quite the opposite experience trying to sell my PB. People saying they only had a 2.5k budget and would i take that for it, 2 solid 3k cash offers but couldn't let it go for that. Is the new owner a CS member?

Personally, for the rarity of the car I think standard is the way forward. I wouldn't buy one that had coilovers etc. same for a sunflower or LY. If I was prepared to do that I'd likely have kept the 182 and sold the 172 and therefore done the semi track prep on it and tracked it.
The rarity of the colour is what persuaded me up buy it. Imagine. 100 Clio's for sale. All similar in spec and description. Equivalent serviced examples and condition. How do you sell your silver, blue or black one instead of the several others advertised? Location will help, as will good photos. But if you are relying on price it needs to be cheaper to stand out. A rare colour is a rarity. People who like it, want it will pay a premium knowing what they pay extra, they'll get back when they part with it. For mine, I offered it to some for £3750, but for a quick sale and in hindsight of the exhaust I reduced the car price to a realistic price of take it or leave it and no haggling on it. I greats me seeing cars over priced and over the coming days and weeks get reduced time and time again to that if a realistic selling price.
Just look at Harpham's ph1. Is it worth his money? In silver, personally, no. In yellow, he'll yeah.

I'd love to own an Escort Cosworth but due to rarity and investment it'd have to be standard, even down to wheels.

Completely agree, it limits the offers. It's a shame i didnt have the OE parts to hand otherwise i would have swapped them over
