PayPal cancelling a payment??

A mate paid for something through paypal by an e-cheque, by mistake somehow and wanted to just pay on his card, as the e-cheque takes 5-7 days to clear apparently.

Can he cancel it and then pay again? If so what's the procedure? I don't use it so can't help him.

Think he has to call his bank and cancel it?

To pay again he just needs to send payment to the specified email address.
