Need New Disks & Pads ASAP!! - N/W or Midlands!

my disks are absolutely shafted, need some new pads too.

been putting it off and its been dragging on, and i dont feel safe driving it anymore, need some disks and pads fitted asap!

i phoned 6/7 motor factors on friday enquiring about disks, they all said they would call back and never did, also called 4 or 5 garages and they all wanted silly amounts for labour, like keeping the car for a full day? WTF??

ive no idea how to fit them, and dont have the tools even if i wanted to, not to mention bleeding the system afterwards!

ive steered clear of renault for obvious reasons.

does anyone know any decent garages in the northwest or midlands (im willing to travel for a good job) that do top notch work and can do it ASAP?

cheers!

You'd probably be better finding a willing member to give you a hand then giving them 50 sheets for their troubles.

isn't your car a 54 plate foxy?

do you do mega miles, or just really push the brakes?!
just wondered as i've got an 04 done 23000 and only got the smallest of lips on the discs...

the pads got replaced at 19k and i think they wernt put in properly and have chewed up the disks to f**k, proper bad lip and i dont feel safe driving it lol!

gte pads/discs from gsf or yozzasport and pay a local garag to do them will take hour/2 maybe a tad more costing you roughly £60-70 i reckon

i see, alot round here wanted 100+ labour which works out more than renault!! absolute jokers.... they wanted like 3-4 hrs labour to swap the disks and pads and to bleed it all

Mate, have you tried Ashcrofts in Penketh? They're behind that BP petrol station. I know of a couple of people who have used them and been very happy with their service, I have also used them once myself and they seem pretty good. The fella I have dealt with was Darren and he used to work for BMW I think. Might be worth giving them a call to see how much they'd want to fit for you.

not the pads you did edde, they were fine once they bedded in after the initial squeeking :) ,

i had greenstuff pads put in at kwikfit (FFS!) about a month later to try and reduce dust...

Arr right.

Greenstuff though there not the best pads ever anyway.

tbh, im never taking my car to a garage like that again...

i should have just stayed with the pads you did just after the 18k service, but they did these about 1k later and its chewed the disks upto f**k...

any ideas for a low dust pad?

gsf's brembo max and pagid fast road pad was ok for £100 or so. but i would go with brembo pads and high carbon disks to save monies.

Low dust and decient don't go exist.

Dsut is the pad breaking up a pad which doesn't have dust doesn't break up and wear hence won't stop.
