You cant give me a good quotation, even though ive got 3 years NCB and am 26 years old it seems you wont insure me on a 172 yet you will insure a 182. I understand that there may have been a lot of claims from 172's but i'm hardly a boy racer ffs! Also, oddly, there seem to be folk on here who are insured by yourselves for 172's

Guessing you mean a 172 ??

I've had a Clio dci 80 for the past 3.5 years to get my insurance down.

Up until recently, I have been getting "shockingly sensible" quotes on the 172 - from only one source.. see below.

I have been with Quinn Direct for over 4.5 years, no problems

I'm 24 with 4 years NCB driving an 04 dci 82
My premium stands at £510

I have asked Quinn Direct on many occasions for a quote on a 172
they tell me "We don't insure that vehicle for anyone of any age"

I shopped around for quotes, as you do, and found only one company who gave me a decent price;
most others were asking silly money if they were to take me on at all.
Some quotes were as expensive as £2370 (and that was 3rd Party F&T!) :dead:

I have had a quote from Greenlight for £673 Fully Comprehensive on a 172 Clio - I actualy rang them to confirm the quote was right .

Seeing that the quote was so low I made rush decisions into buying a 172 from the mainland.
Blinded by the fact I wanted the 172, it took a few days to realise I was being ripped off on a trade-in deal so I proudly kept my dci :approve: (for now)

Im in Belfast which surprisingly is quite a cheap area to be insured in, the car is also parked in a secure carpark every night. I dont understand why they told me they wont insure me for it when other people here have obviously getting quoted and ARE being insured.

Spoke to you earlier mate as its a 172 Cup I cannot quote. If you were to buy a normal 172 or any other Renault sport model I could do it.

As explained our Claim Stats on 172 Cups are terrible so wedon't quote for them anymore.

After much confusion and a check of the chassic number through the DVLNI it turned out that the car is a 182 so I got in touch with you guys again and you gave me a brilliant price.

Anyone not already doing so, USE THESE GUYS!
