My Seats fell out.

I was at Ikea at the weekend and folded the back seats down for the first time. One of them came off in my hands and gave me a right shock. Pretty cool though how you can take them out so quick. Cant work out if the seat backs are supposed to be removable as well though. They have a release on the outside but not on the center. Any one worked out why this is?

the backs are held in by a 17mm bolt if i remember right
