MK2: Phase 1, Phase 2 ?

  2004 Clio 182
Looking to buy a 1.4 clio Dynamique at the moment, around 2003 reg. Just got a few questions.

1) how many different phases are there to the MK2 clio?

2) What phase would a 2003, 1.4 be?

3) What year did the MK2 change from phase 1 to phase 2?

4) how can you easly tell the difference between the two?

5) what are the differences between the phase 1 and phase 2 in terms of body work and inside?

6) if i get a 1.4 Dynamique is it posible to fit a 172/182 style front bumper or should i just spraypaint the black plastic bit of the original bumper so it matches, if it is posible?

thanks, Dave

1) 3

2) 2

3) 2001 (IIRC)

4) headlights, rear lamps, bumpers, sidestrips and interiors.

5) easiest way to describe it is the phase1 is more rounded inside and out than the phase2

6) yes, but with 172 wings/sideskirts is easier as they bolt straight on if you just fit the bumper without the wings it will need modifying.

do you know about how much it would be for a 172 bumper and wings (just front) new and seconds hand if i could get hold of one?
where would be the best place to get one?
i could fit it myself. would I be able to spray it myself or would i need a professional to do that?

wings are just over £50 each and the bumper i think is about £250 then you'll need the centre grill and foglamp trims and arch liners and tbh i'd be guessing how much that would be. Secondhand would be cheaper, try a renault breakers. Personally i wouldnt spray it myself it'll look s**t if its your 1st time especially as you'll be using rattle cans i assume.
