mk1 oil dials

just got myself some oil dials and extended dash top to put in my mk1 maxim.
i've gone to put the dials in but they seem to sit too high, if you get what u mean. there are small clips on the bottom that dont seem to go into anything.
can anybody shed some light....

Sure you aint got them upside down lol. Mine just fitted straight in on my old mk1 phase 3.
