missing and back fire

hi all , right the other day i took the 172 out the garage and started it up as i do once a month while im not using it , anyway she was running perfectly so turned it off went inside for a while, went to put it back in the garage and it was missfireing ?? any sugestions welcome , i aint had time to look at it yet as im working away

most probably spark plugs are knackered due to sitting over the winter.

sorry yes it was but not loads , it sounds like a suburu lol, just think it is wierd as it was running sweet ??

well its quite easy to find out if its the spark plugs,
that would be the first thing i check on a misfire

its the coilpacks. Take each 1 out as they might have moisture in them fingers crossed and clean them up with electrical cleaner, and the plugs too if you can bebothered. Failing it hasn't cleaned up after a little drive then try find out which 1 is dead and replace it before they all go

172 doesn't use pencil coils

most likely a coked plug, if the car's not getting a run it's best not to start it up and just let it idle

or a fooked coilpack, mine ran like a bag of s**t for a while on and off and then the coilpack just gave in and it stopped completely, replaced coil and no better, i bought a faulty coil propper renault coil fitted and its all fine

ill be checking the car over when im back from work hope it is the plugs , ill treat her too some new nice ones anway lol , which are the better ones too buy ?? codes would be good too cheers wayne

my 172 has a slite misfire and some times backfires ive changed the plugs checked the leads and the coil pak and there all fine i had it code read but didnt bring any thin up so goin up 2 renault and c if they can do any thin with it

id say moisture on the plugs, if you want to replace them go with what renault suggest, iv tried others and mine didnt run right, go to www.sparkplugs.co.uk to but them though, renault want £17 a plus + vat lol

oh they only list 182's on that site but dont worry they use the same plug
