I was told by the PO that the car had been mapped at some point in its life. Is there a way for me to tell? I'd read that it would sit at 1.1k revs, and also have no limiter on it but the cars not actually on the road at the moment so I cant test the no limiter part. It doesn't sit at 1.1k once warm though.

It'll sit at 1.1k on cold start up, then once it's warmed up a little it'll drop to 950, also it will have a limmiter in every gear, it'll just be a little higher than standard, but without redlining it in every gear you can't tell, which is why the cold start idle is the best way to tell.
Yeah it does just that. Also idles really lumpy, had been told it was cammed but don't know if that's true either as there's no paperwork to prove it. Is there another way to check if mapped? I'd get an RSTuner but no point if its already been done!
If you can find someone with an RSTuner they can plug it into your car and it will show what map you're running, also if it's been cammed it will have a lumpy idle, although they have a lumpy idle as standard but the map tunes that out a bit, so if it's mapped with a lumpy idle it's possible it cammed too.
Start a thread in your regional section and see who's about, they'll be someone willing to help you out.
can't remember how many ads i've seen with 'cammed and mapped but no proof' and had a fair few people who've brought cars in that have been cammed because of the 'lumpy idle' or 'it's definitely got cams (of course it has otherwise it wouldn't run) because it's really fast.

Yeah, I don't really trust it to be honest! Especially when he told me it ran 216 on dyno.... He had said the throttle body was larger but it's stock unless he has bored it out? Suppose I could take it off and have a look.
It's easier to just believe it hasn't been modified and if it has, well that's a bonus! Definitely want a map on it if it hasn't got one though.
