Manifold-to-Cat Gasket Fitting - Does this look correct?

I’ve just had the manifold-to-cat gasket changed on my 172 Cup, fitted to a brand new Rosi cat using the genuine Renault gasket kit.

Can anyone tell me if the gasket is supposed to show like in the photo or is it supposed to sit flush in the pipe so it cannot be seen from the outside?
