making a false floor for a mk1..





gonna do this today- i no that i need to use the carper out of mdf- but how have people put it on the metal bit?

have u sandwhiched it- i.e. two bits of mdf with some wood inbetween

or

have u jus put wood underneath the mdf ?

please help! any pics of in the process works would be very helpful cheers!

What do you mean by the metal bit? I used the carpet as a template and then cut the wodden floor to shape. Then I just finished it with some acoustic carpet.
 


did it all by myself! with my mate!!!!!

When i do mine i came up wiht the idea of using 34x34 PSE, and then 18mm MDF ontop, then i can run woires underneath. The pse will act like rafters almost

Ahh, I see. Forgot to mention that on the floor that I made, it slides under the back seats a little bit to keep it really secure. I put sound deadening on the metal floor and then left the normal carpet over that, then put the wooden floor on top.
