Back in My 172 was intermitantly failing to start, usually rocking the car or leaving it solved the issue. An OBD scan revealed a knock sensor fault, so when it persisted, a new one was ordered (Valeo from ECP) and solved the issue. However last week, after 3 months the same problem has occured. Managed to remove it, clean it, checked all connections last week and it worked again, up untill this morning, where even after removing and cleaning, it still wont start.
Is there anything that could cause a premature failure? ECP wont take it back with out diagnostic report that will cost me more than the part.
