Knock every time I start........

WTF................ So......I park my car and lift the hand brake, as ya do. When I return to the car again and start to move I hear what can only be described as a crunching/knocking sound. It only does it once, kinda like something is springing back into place....... Any ideas fellas, this has only started to occur over the last fortnight, and I have had the car little over a month.

any help would be appreciated.......... My instinct tells me hand brake but it could be anything.

Sounds like the rear pads binding with the discs, nothing to worry about, mine does it too, my old GTI-6 used to do it too in the winter.

itll be the hand brake jumping down - its usually when you pull it up hard. Mine did that at one point but has gone away now. dont think its anything major.

Common problem with 172s, no fix from renault but nothing really to worry about it just the rear pads sticking to the disks, and they release when you start to drive away, shouldnt do it so much during the summer.
