JVC KDAVX11

Basically I think my current H/U is on the blink. So am looking for a new one, with a price limit of around £200.

Have been looking on caraudiodirect, as I have bought from them before. Came across the JVC KDAVX11...

Any opinions, or do you know someone who has this unit? Just need a few opinions, or even suggestions on a better H/U in a price range of £200-£250 max!

I had the AVX1 and it was good. 3" screen I believe, but it was a bit distracting and pointless to be honest. Its illegal to drive with the DVD playing and as such usually its built in that when the handbrake is off it wont play, but you can easily alter the wiring to include a switch to knock it on or off if you're pulled over by the fuzz.
I cant really have one in the P1 though, as my DIN is slightly lower than I'd like so viewing is a pain.

As I forgot to mention in post above. Im also looking for a H/U with the USB function, so I can use my 1GB drive, aswell as MP3 discs...

I've got the JVC KD-LX552 touchscreen headunit that I bought from Car Audio Direct and I love it! It's a quality headunit for the money

Get an alpine if you like brash tones and thumping bass (dance, DnB etc), i hate them, cos in my experience thats all theyre good for. Absolutely no tonal quality.

Sony are well overpriced and not that great TBH.

My last HU was a JVC and i was dead chuffed with it, made delicious noises, so ive bought another JVC for the clio, same as Hickman - http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/jvc-kdlhx551-p-4039.html

Looks to be an absolute bargain at that price. Dnt forget the free postage code too.

Remember also, that with any HU you buy on a budget, the more features it has (that you prob dont need) the more you sacrifice in sound quality. You also need to think about the amount of pre-outs etc it has if you plan on upgrading the rest of the system.

Went for this one in the end, because of the USB function. Quite handy me thoguht. So got it from Caraudiodirect @ £189.99, and used the sweet free delivery code.
