just rang a dealers about a 172, its 51plate and has 36k on it cars up for £5500

it says full service history on the adverts so i belled them and asked if the aux/cambelt has been done, he replied car is at the valetors, cambelt wont have been done as its only got 36k on it!

i was like what?still 6years old mate!

hes gonna ring me back when cars back on the site!

isnt it common sense that all cars need cambelt after 5-6years?

Ideally every 3 years on the 172 as it will cost a fortune if it snaps.

Renault Say every 5 yrs or 72,000 miles whicherver is sooner.

Not for a '51' plate. £4.5k to £5k tops. Low miles, but it's gonna cost another £500 for the belts to be done straight off.

Well its quite close to home only 20miles away so might go have a look tomo and see what the deal is with the service history, i think i spoke to some young kid on the phone didnt even know what a 172 was!!

says it will come with 3 month warranty and this can be extended to 12/24 months probly aint worth it tho its had 3 owners too, 2years each i reckon

probly be able to haggle as im sure they wont be particularly busy this time of year?

No. of owners isn't an issue.....the belt is

lol that is true, like i said the person at the garage i spoke to was a bit thick, and he didnt know it had service history on the website it says 'full' service history i think, so cambelt might have been done ill find out tomo and report back

get them to do the belts and throw in 12 months warrenty, or get them to knock the value off.

I drove a 600 mile round trip for my 172, but then white ones are few and far between!
