Just been to the garage

  Storm Grey 200
I got my, i think electrical warning light, diagnosed the one with a heart beat monitor thing and a spring underneath. The chap said it was the crank sensor, which measures the flywheel revolutions. Once he unplugged the computer the warning light went off, does this usually happen or as it has gone off now could it have just been a strange happening, ha thats not really the correct word. The sensor from renualt costs just under £100 which i dont really want to spend, and as the lights now gone off does it matter? Ideas?

Sounds like hes just erased the fault. If it was my car I'd leave it, might have just been a loose connection, and when hes been fiddling about sorted it even if it was by chance. Leave it and see if the light comes on.

Most of the time, just removing the TDC sensor, giving it a good clean, tightening the terminals can cure it.

Sure it was a crank sensor? not a cam sensor fault?

The sensors just keep feeding the ECU infomation, telling them what position the cam/cranks in, what its doing etc. I'd leave it and see if your light came back on.
