Is the electric speedo drive from a ph1 removable? so i can a cable?

Looking at getting a ph1 172 box for my hyrbid, can i remove the speedo drive from it? and run muy mk1 cable?

i done a search for this a couple of days ago and nothing came back, and decided to make this thread, then there's your thread a few under this
