intermittent clicking noise on start up?

hi folks

i have a 172 and as the title suggests i get quite a loud click just as the engine starts up its coming from under the bonnet but have no clue what it is?

i done think its the start motor though, it fires up straight away and runs perfectly, also it doesnt do it everytime ive just noticed it lately coz of the weather and having the windows down

any ideas?

could be the air con clicking on

no i dont think the air con was on in fact i have the whole console turned off at the mo

do you think it could be something to do with the injectors?

Hard to say, how long does it stay on for, is it only when the engine is cold?? It could be a sticky solonoid on the starter motor.
