Installing Apple CarPlay in my Phase 2 Renault Clio IV RS Trophy
I have just had my R-Link system swapped out for a wireless CarPlay system. Once Renault no longer supported live traffic info due to the 3G network which the R-Link system relied on I was looking for an upgrade to Apple CarPlay. I talked to a number of installers who said it couldn’t be done. I found Car Screen City based in Kent on You Tube and after numerous questions with Ron discovered that not only was it possible but that all the hand controls and functionality would remain and they could handle all of the install. I got the impression it’s a tricky install and certainly beyond me but Ron from Car Screen City came to my house and installed the system. All the hand controls on the stalks still operate, the screen is a 10” QLED so almost twice the size of the previous screen and much higher resolution and it works wirelessly with my iPhone.
If you are thinking about upgrading your Sat Nav I recommend having a word to Ron at Car Screen City.
