inlet manifold chrome

  VRS
they polish and chrome you inlet manifold for around 80 quid

i was going to get this done but have been informed by numerous car and scooter (my dads currently restoring lambrettas) companies that chroming under the engine bay isnt recommended as the quality if the chrome is affected by the high temps as well as the chrome itself restricting breather pipes/spacings/bolts holes etc etc

i would highly recommend getting it polished tho :D

polishing is around 50 quid for the mani, all they do is machine polish it!
you can always do it your self with some wet and dry and metal polish? thats what i did for most of my stuff

how what wet and dry grade did you use what metal polish did you use is there a guide to do it how long did it take you

  VRS
on my old mani it took about an hour per pipe on the four pipes!
you are looking at a lot of work doing it yourself but you can pick up around 5 grades of wet and dry (120-1500 grit) for about 15quid and some autosol metal polish for a fiver

just work through the grades till its smooth and shiney :)

where would you go if you wanted a proffesinal to do it have you do it all or just the bits you can eg under the pipes

  VRS
i take all the bits off and do them myself (doesnt take long to take it all off), if you look up a metal polisher in the yellow pages they will be able to gives you quotes! the only thing is you will have to take the bits off the car and leave them with the polishers for a few days whilst they do it
