identify this wire

i am new to the clio scene, i have a mk1 1.2 1993 clio and found a broken wire dangaling under the front of the car. it comes out of the loom from under the drivers side headlight, there is a pink wire and a white 1, what does these wires do, the main 1 i need to no is the white 1? i no theres a live feed running throught it.

its the wire thats not going through the hole as ive pulled it out

brake pad wear sensor wire, it usually goes down into the front wheel arch and has a nobble on the end that fits into a hole on the brake pads! so when the pads wear down to a certain limit the sensor touches the disc in which sets the (!) light on the dash off.

yep its got like a black noble on the wire then a short lenght of wire after that. i will look in to it tomorrow and see whats broken. cheers.
