How to test alternator?

Is there an easy way to test your alternator is working correctly?

Get a multimeter on it with the engine running, should be in the 14v's and not vary to much with engine speed.

Multimeter across battery terminals. Your looking for 13.5 - 14.5 volts with loads on (blower, lights, rear screen etc) at fast idle (2500rpm)
