Try track down the source of the white spray. Might just have been from when it over heated but look to see if its coming from around the cylinder head. Also check the inside of your oil filler cap for 'mayonnaise'. This is the creamy yellowy/white emulsion you get when water is managing to get into the oil system somewhere.

Have you noticed your coolant level dropping and needing topping up at all, did you have to put anything in after you noticed your overheating problem?

WHen checking for the above "mayo" on the oil cap, just bare in mind a small smithering of discoloruation can be perfectly normal. Its just condensation/vapour mixing with oil splashes. Your looking for something thats alot thicker....you will no when you see it.

Secondly all those splashes could indicate one of your pipes has either slipped off, or is not sealed properlly. Start the car, get it to operating temp by holding it at 2000rpm and then go look in the engine bay, see if you can spot a leak from anywahere around the rad to the block.

Keep an eye on the coolant bottle, look for signs of bubbles in there surfacing. Make sure the level of the coolant is between min and max when cold and rises to max when hot.
