help please!

on my 172 have a stealth exhaust system... there is a constant rattle coming from the back box it seems.. got the car lifted and doesnt look like anything is loose tbh :S so this makes me think could the baffles of gone? ...is this a common problem? it occured the day after i tought a focus a lesson or 2

any one know? ...solutions? thanks...

Is it an internal noise? Or like it's knocking on the underside of the car?

ermm... :S just a constant rattle like sumit is loose.. just sounds like loose metal lying on metal rattling from the vibrations, thats best i can describe it.. defo is coming from, back box end of exhaust tho :S

It's the same across the rev range? Or gets quicker as revs rise and fall?

If it's knocking on the bumper or something underneath you should be able to feel it through your arse while sitting in the seat lol

Get it up on axle stands and get your head underneath it with the engine running (DON'T just use the jack as that's a BBC1 Casualty episode waiting to happen...) then you can poke around and see what's what. It may just be a loose heatshield resting on the exhaust mid section perhaps. Baffles don't usually rattle!

the more it revs the more rapid the rattling gets its bad on idle and slow speeds also... its really embarrasing driving it about in public... lol

defo dont feel it, just hear it
