Help info needed! cup stuff

Right, been looking at installing my audio. Removed rear seats, there is a bar behind the rear seat that does nothing. Covered by a big plastic thing. Whats this for? Id have thought for saftey but it doesnt actuall do anything.

Its a 172 Cup BTW

did you not remove that when you removed the seats? 17mm swan neck spanner will do it unless you removed the individual "backs" of the seats...?

Yeah i took it out, it seems like a waste of time though and going to leave it out for good cos its in the way of my sub box. Just wondering if i should leave it in for any reason?

Just take it out, when I take out my back seats, Ill just unbolt that bar/bracket thus removing the "backs" of the seats without having to fanny about.
