HELP ! AIR BOX MOUNTS.

Anyone know how many mounts on a std 172 mk2 airbox and how do you remove it ??

2 bolts iirc? 3?
Just undo it and take it out. 2 cold air feeds click out and the elbow forces off

Theres 2 mounts. One to the left of the battery (which you have to take the battery out to get the bolt out) and one near the slam panel which bolts to the brace that goes over the battery.

thanks guys .Thats the two I can see. bolt has come out of the back one and airbox has pulled out of the front one tried to push it back but it wont move thats why I reckoned there was three .see will have a look tonight. Does it sit in a mounting frame then ?

Theres no frame as such, it is a tight fit though. There are pipes that go into the airbox (the bottom right as you look at it) They maybe causing it not to come out?

Thanks mate will have a proper look later . Probly turn into one of those 15min jobs that turns into a nightmare !!

Easy peasy. 2 bolts, dont have to take the battery out. I found I couldnt get the box out without taking the throttle body off as it was catching on that.

My bad, I thought he meant how to get the actual mounting bracket off.
