Head unit choice

Ok Im sure there have been previous topics about this but are you limited to head unit choice on a 172?

Do you have to make some alteration to keep the dash display correct?

Sorry if this is an obvious question but Im a complete r****d when it comes to ice.

I think you need an OEM remote out on the Head Unit. Im also retarded and dont know much about the Gooble but its someink like that.

However i do know that most new Alpine stuff ave it!

quite a few companies are now doing the leads that go between the new stereo and the leads in the car that make the display and steering remote work. Sony do it (ask renault dealer), kenwood do it but i havent found it yet, blaupunkt do it (check link below), i havent seen the new alpine stuff yet but im sure everyone is getting hot on the case to make their head units compatable with our cars!

Depends if you want the display/stalk. I dont so stuck the Nakamichi in.

i got a keenwood hu working with the stalk and the keeping the display showing time & temp. replaced the reno changer for a kenwood changer aswell.
