Gearbox oil change

I'm trying to change the gearbox oil in my 172 cup but can't find the 8mm socket I'm supposed to remove to drain the oil? Do I need a special tool to get to it? I have tried searching but there's no mention of one in the guides and the guide in the how to section no longer has pictures! My cars jacked up atm so speedy responses would be extreeeemely appreciated if you can help me out!
