fitted some 6x9's..... speaker wire colour??!!

fitted some 6x9's in the parcel shelf..... confused!!:S standard, original wiring to the originals in the rear pannels was odd....... light brown, and dark brown to both sides, but.. drivers side dark brown was + and light - and passenger side was the other way round!!!! anyone elese found this?

yeah i found this in my 03 plate 1.2 when i changes the rear speakers, not sure why though. the new speakers still sounded crap when fitted so i just installed some new better quality cable direct from head unit - sounded 10x better
