Faulkner custom springs

Right, have a mate of mine wanting some uber stiff springs. He is currently running Eibach Prolines and would prefere something stiffer.

Does anybody know a rough spring rate of the Prolines (Eibach won't tell us)?

Any recommendations on some stiffer springs, I was think he could get some Faulkner customes but wasn't sure of the spring rate he would ideally need.

Any suggestions from experience would be great.

Cheers

i can't help with the rates, but when my coilovers were built they used the axle weights to calculate them.
could faulkners not do the same?

out of interest, what does he want mega stiff springs for?

He says that the Koni ones and the Eibach ones that he tried just aren't stiff enough for him.

I'm guessing that Faulkner will just make any spring rate you ask for.

i think they can, but i'm not sure about diameters.
you might find that they only do standard diameters like 2" or 2.25"

The car just seem's to have to much body roll whilst cornering.

Ive changed all the bushes ect but im not sure what to do now??

Ive had that done mate, koni shocks, eibach pro lines, powerflex bushes all round, tracking set up, decent tyres, strutt brace. Still to much body roll. Im hoping stiffer springs will reduce this? But im not convinced.

Stiffer springs will ruin the ride, you want to upgrade the dampers as well, that'll help stiffen up body roll. i.e. coilovers.

There are no Prolines its Prokit, swap em for Sportlines. Mines like a dream since they was fitted ;)

The dampers are upgraded, he just needs some stiff springs that will work well with the Koni dampers.

Coilovers are not the be all and end all of suspension, you can get just as good setup buying products that are matched, or work well together.

Stiffer springs will make the car harder, but ruined ride? Depends on what you want from your car really.

You're right, coilovers aren't the be all and end all, but sticking harder springs on uprated dampers will result in them not matching up. Coilovers that are properly set up with adjustable damping will stop body roll, and give a really comfortable ride IMO

Yeah I see what you mean, thats why I asked for the advice on the spring rating so they match up. They won't just work well with one specific spring rate. If Kev can get them working well with a higher spring rate then ideal, saves spending more cash on suspension when he already has a great set of dampers.
