Erratic Idling

Hello,

i recently bought a 172 (2002), I find whilst idling in traffic it can sometimes have erratic idling on the engine. Is this normal for the car or does it need a servie or new HT leads or something?

It's normal. Renault will tell you it's the oxygen sensor. But it's just the engine by nature.

Cheers I was debating wether to change the HT Leads or not.

try the throttle body sensor -

thats what was up on my focus would just idle really bad and rev it's self and revs would rise really high when changin gear.

you havn't changed the air filter or exhaust and not dissconnected the battery to reset ECU ?

I had the battery changed recently but still did it.
No exhaust filter change, totally standard.
I'll see if it worsens, might just need a good service aswell?
