Engine trouble....

  None
Driving home tonight and turned the corner and I started hearing like a grinding/rubbing noise from beneth the pedals from the drivers side, coming near the wheel area, so carried on driving and pulled into a bus stop thinking it may be a lose hub cap or something but it wasnt. Funny thing is aswell when I pulled in to stop the car died aswell. Started it up again and continued to drive (slowly) home, the noise was coming and going and the engine seemed very lumpy no very responsive (loud tapping noise coming from the engine block itself), got home and left the car. The car was struggling to get home. I thinkit could be the drive shaft or problems with the headgasket (maybe not all the pistons working but im no mechanic!!) anyone here know what it could be??

Did it run very rough, I.E Limp home mode? Was the engine warning light on or flashing?

Thats kinda what mine did when I blew my injector but it is more of a loud clicking noise, when you start the engine on your drive try and get your head under the bonnet to find exactly where its from?

My dad says its the camshaft and its misfiring and wants me to take it to his (sh*t) friends garage to get fixed and thinks it maybe around £350 to do. If it is going to cost that much then im just going to stick a 1.8/2.0 16v into it as in my eyes £350 is a f**king waste for a crappy little 1.2 engine. Really p*ssed off with it at the moment :(
