ECU Computerised Diagnostics test showed nothing...!

Diagnostics test didnt work/register any parameters...!

Hi i just went to a renault specialist to get a computerised diagnostics test done using main dealer equipment. The guy hooked it up and it was not reading anything no parameters or faults, nothing was showing. He then got another ECU from another clio and hooked up the computer to that to show me that it showed the falts etc from that one but not from mine. Was toled that there is something wrong with the ECU and would have to get a new one. iv been reading on the forum and was thinking of disconnecting the battery to reste the ecu if it works. dont know what to do. is there really something wrong with the ECU...?

Does the car drive ok?? Reason for doing test?

drives sluggish... i also got the spark plugs change to renault ones at the same time as the guy said NGKs seem to cause faults

is it the renault diagnostic tool ? if so ask what dics version he is using as some versions wont read the fault on the 1.2 . he may need to update his disc.

oh ok... what versions wouldnt read faults on a 1.2...???

i believe version 78 onwards are ok.
