Just wondering if anyone knows if the door badges from a ph2 172 will fit a ph1?

Yep, you'll need the bumpstrips too tho.

sorry to be thick, but, will the whole side strip need replacing or just the bit on the door?

You should only need to replace the bumpstrip on the door.
