Does anyone have access to a VIN database?..

I cant find the full engine code on my clio's engine as its still sat in the car and i cant spot the tag anywere!

No, i want my engine code, i know its D7F, but there are a few different ones, for example 720, 722 726 744 746 and 764. I need to know what one mine is so i can try and find some data using Autodata.

I need to find out what each pin does, on the main engine loom connection block, the car side, not the engine loom side, so i can solder the one i cut off at the scrap yard, to my F7p's loom. (sorry if that dont make sence)

Forgot to say, after having a chat with Jord this morning, he told me someone with access to the VIN database could find out my full engine code easily.

Any ideas on how to find out the above information or were i can find it?

If i have to do it the long way i can do it with a multimeter, but thats a pain in the arse.
