Broken Latop, getting stuff off it?



Hey, basically my old laptop has packed in for the second time, and now wont charge at all. Its totally dead.. But all my stuff is on it?

Is there anyways of getting it off, maybe connecting it to my new laptop or something?

long shot i know :(

You could take the hard drive out and put it in a usb enclosure to get your stuff off it.

Depending on the laptop the the hardest part is working out how to get the hard drive out. After that its just the case of sticking it it in the enclosure.

Obviously if you only have one computer then you'll struggle on both!

HDD enclosure is good as you can buy a secondary HDD and use it in future as an external hdd to backup shizzle!

BUT i'm not sure why joeldee suggested this...your battery on your laptop is flat so regardless of matter your harddrive needs removing.

Can you not get a new laptop battery??
