Broken clock

My clock in my 172 is broken, the minutes run by like seconds. Running my finger across the buttons I cant feel that its stuck in, also tried to push the buttons and pushed unit back into console, how do I get it back flush?
Any help on either matter, most welcome please

Take the dash top off and release the clock display.

You can then separate the front panel from the display module and buttons, by releasing the plastic clips.

Re-assembly is a reversal of the above...
