bonnet lock not opening

help!!! the lock on my bonett isnt releasing, ive taken out the lever on passeneger footwell that controls the mchanism and the cable is intact, when pulling it can here like its trying to open the lock but to no avail, Any suggestions on what might be wrong?

Im having the same problem! Just washed the the car and went to check the oil/water and have a general clean and it wont open. The lever clicked like it does when the bonnet is released but no release!

try pullin the lever while someone presses and pulls on your bonnet, tap the area where the catch is, might need greasin

finally got it open by taking cable out release handle and pulling with pliers while some1 tapped bonnet and pulled, Lock mech was well corroded, freed it up with oil and lashed on the grease, should be good now, pain in the backside tho
