Blue headlights

  Clio DCi
Trying to make the lights look better and the first dipped light bulbs i bought, i'm not impressed with.

From your own experiences, can anyone tell me what the bluest looking H7 lightbulbs that are legal i could buy?

Cheers in advance

Blue halogen bulbs are illegal.

I recommend Philips BlueVision bulbs, which although their name suggests otherwise give off a nice bright white crisp light.

Naw, Phoenix AutoBulbs. PowerWhite but said there was a tint of blue. I can't see it though.

Am thinking Osram CoolBlue though (Not sure if i can link), I'm waiting on CoolBlue sidelights atm so i'll install them and see what they're like. (Hopefully be here tomorrow)

No legal bulbs will look blue (because it's illegal).

Osram CoolBlue bulbs have a blue tint, but look white when lit. They are a nice crisp white though.

Most likely. If you're trying to get them to look blue when lit up (similar in colour to an HID light), then you'll have to fit illegal bulbs - and blind oncoming traffic.

i know it will be expansive but ive seen a lot of cars lately with blue bulbs in they are to blue though in my opinion. nothing looks as good as proper factory xenons.

Fair enough,
only problem is when i was driving home today there was a Leon with deadly lights behind me, very noticable light blue.

Suppose they were illegal though

Probably illegal. It may have been one of these bright sparks that think putting the dodgy retro-fit ebay HID kits in their headlights designed for standard halogen bulbs is a good idea, and blind everyone. Possibly.

dont waste your money on w**ky halogen bulbs, HID kits are where its at,

look on ebay, i got a 6k H7R kit a month or two ago for my mates 197 and it was £23 delivered....

make sure you get the 'R' prefix on the bulbs, they have a sheild to stop glare so you dont blind everyone

they dont comply with construction and use regs (so illegal) but unless u drive like a tool, the police wont give you a second glance

Retro fit HIDs are going to be an MOT fail next year are they not? Will be a bit of a waste of money if so.

People please please don't join the growing population that think putting HID lights into headlights designed for halogen bulbs is acceptable unless you get them tested. They don't reflect/refract the light from the HIDs properly and can look extremely bright.

Luckily the police have cottoned on around here and I know a few people that have been made to remove them (including a Polish kid who's were so bright it was worse than full beam).

If you have projector type headlights (like in the ph1 172s) then they actually don't seem to blind and seem to be fine.

I don't want to start an argument on the subject, but just think that if you do decide to put a HID kit on your car, get it tested at an MOT centre to make sure it's not going to blind oncoming traffic.

what i meant to say was the 'r' prefix are designed for non projector lenses, and for the record, peugeot 607 has non projectors, and HID from the factory ;)

Oh I know, so do many Volvos and Hondas.

It wasn't a dig at you, just trying to say they need to be tested after fitment to make sure the beam is legal.

yeah, i didn't mean to sound snotty :)

most MOT places dont charge for getting the beams checked, i know we dont at work (pug main dealer)

my dci has retrofit HID, and was spot on on the beam tester :)
