Black gold Cleaning products

  Recaro'd 182
Having just purchased a clio 182 black gold, love it when its clean but when its dirty its foul lol.

Just wondering what cleaning products you lot use on your black gold 182's? all comments welcome :) i.e. shampoo, polish tyre care etc
I have tried autoglym but not really impressed.

Cheers

Working by hand Autoglym Super Resin and Extra Gloss both work well on Black Gold when used and worked correctly, most people use to much and dont get succesful results.

In most cases though the paint tends to need something more abbrasive than the Super Resin to clean it up. Working by hand Meguiars Scratch X is the best option to correct the deeper defects and swirl marks that SRP wont sort.

By hand it may not be 100% succesfull and is very hard work - The easiest way to restore gloss on Black is a machine polish with a variety of polishes to get the paint looking the best it can. This is the route I went with my own car.

After this I have had good results with either Autoglym Super Resin and multiple coats of the AG Extra Gloss Protection, or Klasse All In One and some coats of Jeffs Acylic Jett Sealant.

To enhance looks further a pure carnuba wax over the long lasting protection left by the sealants will give a deeper warmer glow. There area good few choices when it comes down to pure carnuba's, most which come down to budget.

My own choices:

Under £25 - Chemical Guys 50/50

Under £50 - Swissvax Onyx

For the money the above is my choice on Black Gold

Over £50 - Swissvax Best of Show

I wash with either Megs Shampoo Plus, Sonax Gloss Shampoo, Duragloss Wash or Swissvax Car Bath. Rinsed with a Aquagleam and air dried.

Wheels polished and sealed with Autoglym Resin and Gloss. Tyres dressed with Blackfire Gel.

After you have EGP'd it is fine just to wash and build up the layers of EGP.

If you use the Scratch X or SRP again you will strip off the EGP layers.

I don't!! Think will be getting a boring silver one next time as can't afford to spend so much time cleaning a darn car!! Does look hot though - but my Dad can just spray his over with a QD and looks amazing even in the sun. Jealous times...
