Belt Changes Huddersfield/Bradford Area

had my 172 mk2, 52 plate 51k miles now for a few month got it cheap with no service history, been saving up to get the belts done and its started making a whining noise when first starting up on a morning, maybe a sign of the belts on the way out?

so does anyone know any local garages that are decent and had theirs done previously. cheers

just found this on ebay, seem quite genuine and only down the road, has anyone used them before? regards

ok mate ill have a think and do a bit of researching. do you know if whining is a sign of the belts? it does seem to be better and no noise when its warmed up. cheers

It's recommended that you change the belts after 5 years regardless of the mileage. The fact that yours is a 52 plate and may not have had them done is a scary concept to say the least. If ur cambelt goes, 90% of the time, so does your engine.

Take it to Birchdown Auto Services in Cheshire. They changed mine using Renault tools & parts in about an hour for (i think) £225. Even got a courtesy car (well, van) while I was waiting. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

yeah i know scary - havent had the money though.

the local garage near me just quoted £340 so that seems fair to me...
