Bad driver scratched my bumper :-(

...luckily not badly, but even so. Why cant people bloody drive properly in Portsmouth???

I came up the outside of a line of traffic on a bend, and some TW*T veered right into me going round the corner and smacked my off-side wing-mirror, frightened the life out of me. He was half way over into my lane, and I couldnt move or Id have hit the kerb..

We both stopped. I checked and he hadnt done any damage (literally an inch closer and my car would have been a mess).

Looked again more carefully when I got home and theres a scratch on the rear wheel arch/bumper.

Whats the best way to polish that out?

Grrr I cant believe how close he was...

Im confused?!?

Which kerb would you have hit? The one on the left that had a lane of traffic between you + it, or the one on the right that was on the wrong side of the road?

Annoying though even with so little damage. Can I assume u have a met black 172? Unfortunately youll see every little scratch, dent and dirt with that colour!

It was on a one-way system (two lanes), so it was the kerb on the right. I know its only a small scratch, so not worth getting too het up over, its just annoying that because he wasnt looking in his mirror I have a 3-inch long white mark..it was just TOOOO close to a real smash.

Yes its pearl black - and I already have a mark where someones opened their door onto me.

Im going to start driving around with a duvet wrapped round it!

No I didnt...I looked where I thought hed hit me and hed just knocked the wing mirror (thought hed broken it, but amazingly he didnt)

I only saw the other scratch when I got back - he was in his 50s as well, so its not always youngsters who are bad drivers.

As I say, could have been much worse though - I just need to find something to cover it up..
