AVI & MPEG compression tools

has anyone got any? I've got Adobe Prem for movie editing, but cant seem to find a way of compressing the footage at all. I know I can do it in windows movie maker, but the quality becomes s**t, so I'd like to know if there is something else people can recommend... or is Adobe can do it and just how I go about doing it... thanks in advance!

bump... anyone? I have my mates Scooby racing a Skyline i need to put on, but at over 1gb for 5 mins its a bit big! lol

as i a said i cant remember a way of doing it BUT im sure there is, try the adobe web site or a premier forum but beware its full of geeks lol

I use adobe premier elements and when you export there are tonnes of setting for compression + you can make your own custom settings...but tbh I'm not keen everything but the highest quality looks a bit w**k. WMM is much better for compression imo
