Autoglass

  3 Series xdrive

Just had Autoglass fit me a new windscreen on my spanking new 182(only 2 months old) However once the new screen had bee fitted everything looked fine, until the fitter left and i noticed a great big ding on the front of my bonnet, its one of those hidden ones that you can only see in a certain light..

Im really p*ssed off about this as i really take good care of my car it gets polished once a week and its never been left in a car park (so not a door ding in sight)

I have phoned up Autoglass and complained to them, they said they are gonna send someone out to have a look....

Has anyone else had any issues like this with them??

I hope they sort out your ding Daz.

Not had damage like that but i once had a window fitted and it leaked and they were very good sorting it out.

Is the screen they fitted exactly the same as standard ?

Ye it all appears to be fine, rain sensitive still working ok etc, guy seems to have done a good job apart from the ding he has left me...

They will probably say im being picki coz you can hardly see it, but its the fact that it was unmarked b4 they got there hands on it.

I hate having stuff like that done to my cars. When the time comes to get new tyres im going to make a point of pointing out how my alloys dont have a mark or scuff on them before they start.Im not going to go out of my way to make sure i dont kerb my wheels only for some Biff to damage them sticking on new tyres.

I fully understand where you are coming from complaining and you have every right.Im sure they will sort it,let us know how you get on.

Small girl ran out infront of me from behind a bus, smashed my headlamp and carcked the windscreen(she did not ding the bonnet tho)

No lasting damage to the girl(thank god)

Unlike my credit card... £200 for a headlight £50 excess for the window..nightmare

How did she manage to crack your headlight and windscreen but not damage your bonnet !!!

Dave i think this has been answered before but are the bulbs covered by warranty because of the price ?

What i think has happened is when the guy that was fitting the windsreen was puting down the bonnet after he had finshed,i think he has dropped the bonnet(as you are supposed to do to close it) but it hasnt shut properly so he has pressed it down with his hands, hence the ding i now have...

only for the first year, after that its credit card time. I thought they lasted about 5 years but last time I was at a dealer I asked them and they said that they currently have 3 lagunas in with bulbs needing replacementsand they are tending to go after about 2 years!!!!

Its also not something you can fit yourself (because of the voltage I think) so it has to be booked in to the dealer! Cant wait till mine go........NOT!

Thats crap...at that price they should come under warranty.

2 years then new ones, thats a scary thought

In all the cars ive owned i cant ever remember having to replace a headlight bulb

I had windscreen changed by Autoglass (The guy came from Newark) and he made an ace job of it. Fitted all new trim rubbers etc and got rid of original Renault wind noise. Autoglass are good and professional, and much better than some of the cowboys who fit pattern screens and reuse the trim rubbers.:)
