AUDIO GEEKS..PLEASE HELP!!

  E36 Coupe & Mk4 Golf
recently bought my car and the kid threw in a sub and an amp,
the wiring was a complete mess so i started to tidy it up, i had the head unit out to re connect the sub got everything to work 100% then after i pushed the head unit back in the sub died along with the amp. i figured the problem out it was the remote ground wire so i managed to get the sub going but where does the remote ground for the amp go?! the sub powered up by connecting it to a blue and white wire on the back of the hu
so where would the remote gnd for the amp go?
any help appreciated thanks

the wires that go from your amp to your hu.. is your remote and phonos

i find it best to ground my amp to a seatbelt bolt under the rear seats, more secure and tidy
