Another speak thread!! Advice for a noob

Hi guys,
Tomorrow i will be going out to get the Alpine iDA x001 head unit. I'm upgrading from a standard clio 1.2 dynamique setup.

Now i was gonna buy some £112 alpine components, but to be honest i dont want to remove the dash to fit the tweeters in. I can buy the 13cm co-axs for £70 on their own without the x-overs and tweeters.

My question is, is it a stupid idea to leave the standard x-overs and tweeters in the clio and just replace the front door speakers with the alpine co-ax's? or should i just go all about and take of the dash and replace tweeters and x-overs.

How would the system sound with just door speakers replaced and headunit upgraded compared to standard system??

I am eventually looking to amp the front components, wasnt gonna do it straight away, but if people tell me to get the dash off then i'll probably put the amp and whole lot in, in one go.

Just one more question, how much would an independant installer charge to do all the above, fit head-unit, amp and components. I can do the install, have done it before, but im never tidy, and always seem to leave panels loose or wobbly.

oh and im in the guildford area if anyone has recommendations for places to buy equipment or installers!!

Well I would definitely go down the route of components, but if you are willing to spend 112 quid, do not spend it on alpine. They make amazing headunits but their speakers are not as good. You could get a set of focal components for 100 quid which would sound great, definitely better than co axial's

imo it depends how serious you are about your music quality. if you just want a set of speakers that sound better than standard go for a decent set of co-axial speakers. this will still sound vastly better than standard. if you are serious about going for sound quality then get components but you seriously want to think about running an amp to get the best out of them. i ended up using infinity co-axail speakers and a 60 watt alpine head unit sounds good for normal listening.
