It should beep x times to tell you what set it off when you next unlock it ?

Could be a spider in the car, or a dodgy door sensor like mine has from time to time.

Also, maybe it's just lonely ?

there is a way of alarming it so it disables the interior sensors i know dave88 had a very similar problem . will be worth PM'ing him as he knows how to do it

I've currently got this problem too - drives me up the frigging wall! if you turn the ignition on/off/on/off then lock the car it'll disarm the Volumetric Sensors until the car is next unlocked - the car will beap at you 4 times to tell you its been disarmed).

Other then that i've found no permanent solution - you could try aiming the sensors down slightly so that they don't get triggered by a car driving past? (This hasnt worked for me but has for others).

IIRC its the flashing light near the gear stick (if this is on the V6?) that should flash in a pattern which relates to what sensor was triggered, the light will flash this pattern until the car is next started..

1 Blink: Doors, Bonnet, Boot Have been opened..
2 Blinks: Additional Sensor Triggered (something that probably don't effect you)
3 Blinks: Ultrasonic Volumetric Sensor Triggered (Internal sensor)
4 Blinks: Attempt To Start Car/Ignition

A common fault with the alarms was the internal sensor which was triggered by changes of temperature inside the car, more often it was heat being dispersed from the vents causing the alarm to go off, solution was removing the sensor from the pillars and changing the wires around making them less sensitive..

Hope some of this helps..

There's an old trick where a car thief rocks your car to set the alarm off.

After long enough most people will stop arming the alarm thus making his job much easier.

I'd get it sorted properly rather than not setting the alarm.
